Metadata Inc. also develops analytics and matching engines for social media marketing, customer voice (VoC) analysis, and large-scale optimization tasks such as trade orders and job-to-talent matching. The company continues to advance emotion analysis and management-focused AI tools, supported by in-house scientists who provide expert analytical services.
Role Description The Prompt Engineer will design, test, and refine prompts for AI models used in Metadata Inc.’s applications, ensuring high-quality outputs for clients across use cases such as dialogue robots, VoC analysis, and content integration. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists and engineers to understand system requirements, building prompt libraries and templates, and conducting experiments to improve model accuracy, reliability, and safety. The role also involves documenting best practices, analyzing user interactions to optimize prompts, and supporting product teams in integrating prompt solutions into SaaS and cloud-based offerings. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Tokyo Area, with some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in prompt design, natural language understanding, and experimentation with large language models.
- Experience working with AI/ML concepts, including model evaluation, data analysis, and performance optimization.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, data science, product) and translate business needs into prompt solutions.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used in AI workflows (e.g., Python) and comfort with APIs and cloud-based tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, clear documentation, and a user-focused mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Linguistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with conversational AI, chatbots, or customer-facing AI systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Japanese and English language contexts, especially for social media or customer interaction scenarios, is an advantage.
