Welcome to the engineering team
GOALS is user-focused in every aspect, emphasizing intuitive and immersive user interfaces that enhance player interaction and experience. As a UI Lead Engineer, you will be pivotal in developing and refining the UI framework and elements to ensure a performant and visually appealing gaming experience. You will lead the engineering aspects of the UI team while being hands-on in development and our lead roles do not include people management for the time being. The role is part of a cross-functional area and requires great collaboration with UX, Art and Game Design.
We use C++ in Unreal Engine 5, together with a small amount of Blueprints.
This is a leadership position but not a people management role(no direct reports).
At GOALS, you will...
- Implement new and improve existing UI systems that work seamlessly on desktop and consoles.
- Together with other leads, plan the work for upcoming sprints
- Drive design and architectural decisions
- Coach and mentor engineers in the team
- Drive quality in the product and speed in our development
Ideally you have...
- 5+ years of professional experience working as a UI Engineer, or similar, in the games industry. Preferably some years as a Lead.
- Experience with multiplayer and cross-platform console games
- Shipped game titles before
- Skills in Unreal Engine, UMG, C++ Programming
About the Employment
The position is permanent and you can work from our Stockholm office, hybrid or fully remote from anywhere in Europe. It is important that you are able to communicate unhindered in verbal/written English.
